All through Scripture, God uses the metaphor of a vineyard to describe first the people of Israel and then the church. It’s a beautiful image because a vineyard yields fruit. Our church and the things we do together—worship, service, formation, and fellowship—are the fruit of the vineyard. That fruit exists to give life to the world and to give our love back to God. As we gear up for fall, and school starts, and we all fill our schedules, consider your priorities and choose to do something new with your church family that will produce good fruit for your own soul and for the life of the world.
