Easter is a joyous day, but that doesn’t mean it’s an easy day. The disciples on that first Easter were filled with difficult emotions—confusion, amazement, fear, disbelief, and yes, joy also. They knew that the resurrection would change their lives and demand everything from them. We still grapple with the joy of Easter. Joy is bigger than happiness—it’s not a simple emotion. It’s complicated and sometimes difficult, but it is also real and true, and so very good. The resurrection doesn’t promise us easy, ‘blessed’ lives, but it does promise us joy beyond measure.
A joyous Easter to you and your family!
