Upside Down

The way of the world is upside down. It glorifies the rich, the strong, and the well-respected, ignoring the poor and the needy. The beatitudes turn our thinking upright again. God’s intent for us is to give, not receive, to feed the poor instead of our own appetites, to walk with those who cry out in pain or injustice, to do the opposite of what the world tells us to do, even if it means we will be different. Focus on just one of the beatitudes this week. Ask God to help you change your thinking and look for an opportunity to live it out more fully.
