Tomatoes, Wheat, and Mustard Seeds

Jesus constantly uses agrarian parables to describe the Kingdom of God because they evoke a sense of growth, vitality, and life. He says that the Kingdom of God is dependent on God, is already here, and is growing and flourishing. How can we see the Kingdom of God more clearly? Pray, read your bible, attend church, and commit to your church family. When we do those basic things, we form ourselves to be people who notice God at work in our lives and in the world, and then not only do we see the Kingdom of God, it spills out from us to the world around us.

Fr. Perry Mullins is the Rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in McKinney. He grew up an Episcopalian. During college and afterward, he worked in youth ministry in San Antonio and Austin, and then entered the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest. Fr. Perry loves preaching, teaching, and outreach, and still has a heart for children’s and youth ministries. He was called to be Rector of St. Peter’s in 2017. He is married to Sarah, and they have two children.
