Saying the word ‘evangelism’ in the Episcopal Church is an easy way to make people uncomfortable, but evangelism isn’t scary. We share all sorts of things with those around us—why not our faith? Evangelism is about building relationships, valuing community, learning to listen well, making room for all of God’s children, and strengthening our own faith in the process. In the coming year, we are going to focus even more on getting outside ourselves and reaching out in faith to others. It will stretch us, and make us uncomfortable at times, but it won’t be scary, and it will most definitely be worth it.
