Rise

The story of the transfiguration comes right in the middle of Jesus’ ministry. It hearkens back to his baptism and anticipates his resurrection. We, too, find ourselves in an in-between time. We have set off on the Christian journey, but we have not yet reached the end. And the in-between part is the hardest. But God gives us courage to stand up and move forward. What is God calling you to do? The disciples were terrified when God revealed to them what was ahead. It’s ok to be afraid. But take courage. As Jesus said to his disciples, he says to us also: “Do not fear. Rise.”
