Deep Waters

In Sunday’s Gospel story, Jesus calls 3 fishermen, Peter, James, and John, to be his followers and fishers of people. Jesus calls us too to follow him and to do God’s work in the world.  Sometimes we don’t know to what work God is calling us. Frederick Buechner offers us some guidance. He says, “the place God calls you to is the place where your deep gladness and the world’s deep hunger meet.”

Mtr. Kathy Heitmann is the Associate Rector and Director of Youth Ministries. After graduating from Yale Divinity School, she served churches around the country in many different roles. She loves working with the youth and a wonderful team of youth ministry volunteers. She also enjoys teaching adults, visiting shut-ins, leading mission trips, and much more. Mtr. Kathy has two children in college, and one very energetic black lab.
