God wired us in the factory to be grateful. Studies show that when we are grateful we enjoy health benefits such as better sleep, improved immune system, lower blood pressure, less heart inflammation, better heart rhythms, and decreased fat intake. Studies also show that when we have a regular gratitude practice such as a gratitude journal, we are emotionally healthier and are less likely to be as risk for anxiety, depression, and substance abuse. My morning routine includes thinking of 5 things for which I am grateful that day. I then add those 5 things to my prayers and thank God for them. What are you grateful for today?
