Tools of Faith: Serving Christ and Others

The third tool of our faith is service. Study and prayer are both integral to a developed faith, but without service, it’s like we’re constantly practicing but never getting to the big game. It matters that we serve others, but it matters even more that we serve Jesus. Serving Him means feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, and caring for those in need. Service, then, becomes for us an act of worship in which we encounter the living God. Serve always. Find your calling and respond.

About The Author

Fr. Perry Mullins is the Rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in McKinney. He grew up an Episcopalian. During college and afterward, he worked in youth ministry in San Antonio and Austin, and then entered the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest. Fr. Perry loves preaching, teaching, and outreach, and still has a heart for children’s and youth ministries. He was called to be Rector of St. Peter’s in 2017. He is married to Sarah, and they have two children.
