Kudzu is an invasive vine found in Galveston and Liberty counties in Texas and in much of the southeastern United States. According to Invasives of Texas, “Kudzu kills or degrades other plants by smothering them under a solid blanket of leaves, by girdling woody stems and tree trunks, and by breaking branches or uprooting entire trees and shrubs through the sheer force of its weight.” There is a dangerous side to the Kingdom of God. As the Kingdom of God advances, it suffocates injustice, uproots all that is malicious, and squashes the forces that steal away hope. If you find yourself frustrated or over-whelmed by the sin and evil you see in this world, whether it’s in a far off land or in your own life, absolutely do what you can to change it and pray: “Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is Heaven.” The Kingdom’s vines will grow, spread across another home, another town, and into more lives.
