The Ascension

It would be easy for us to become discouraged on the Feast of the Ascension. Jesus has departed into heaven, and we are left here with this incredible weight on our shoulders—to take up His ministry on earth. Instead, be comforted by the knowledge that in Jesus, our broken humanity has been perfected and assumed into heaven itself, and that Jesus will always be with us on earth in the gift of the church. No matter what comes your way, be comforted by Christ’s presence and then go out into the world to do the work of Christ here and now.

Fr. Perry Mullins is the Rector of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in McKinney. He grew up an Episcopalian. During college and afterward, he worked in youth ministry in San Antonio and Austin, and then entered the Episcopal Seminary of the Southwest. Fr. Perry loves preaching, teaching, and outreach, and still has a heart for children’s and youth ministries. He was called to be Rector of St. Peter’s in 2017. He is married to Sarah, and they have two children.
