Love Is An Action Word

When asked what is the greatest commandment, Jesus recited the Shema which is to love God with all your heart, your soul and your mind. Then he linked the commandment to love your neighbor as yourself as inseparable from the first. This is not the romantic, emotional love one hears in songs, but action. To love God is to love one’s neighbor, and to love one’s neighbor is to love God. This emphasizes how you treat others at all times really matters. It requires us to respect the dignity of every human being, nearby and far away.
